Or maybe it's just the combined goodwill of wine from tonight's dinner and a few nights of exceptionally good food!
Moving on, I need to remind myself that life is all about looking beyond what is immediately visible. I tend to be quite conservative in my outlook, but I think I'll stop looking over my shoulder one too many times from now on. When I look back, I wonder where did she go-- the crazy girl who walked off a plane in India at 3AM without the faintest idea of where to sleep for the night. OK-lar, admittedly my thinking as been influenced by the friends around me:
- IQ who moved upward and out to Kiasu-land;
- JS and D who quit their jobs and went globe-trotting;
- YY who may be moving to a whole new industry soon;
- HN, the superwoman that she is, is buying a house, getting married and starting grad school-- I still can't believe that barely 4 years ago, we were two broke students partying in Rio and masquerading as neo-liberalism critics. Till this day, I still don't know what neo-liberalism is. Malu sial.
- LY, Swita and EW, who all got into class of 2010 MBA programs
- All those NMF students who are busy planning their summer
So now, the game plan for now is to take stop procrasturbating, take those GMATs and type up those grad school essays. One year from now, I'll circle a bunch of countries, buy some tickets and trot off for a few months. Then its onward and forward to a new beginning.
Life as it is in New York has been wonderful for the past three years, but it's time to move on-- hopefully same city, but new trajectory.
